Supply at the intended station
Record nominal voltage, phase and frequency; identify who confirmed them and the proposed installation location. Leave technical connection details to the responsible qualified person.
BUYER PLANNING GUIDE · 14 OCTOBER 2026
A catalogue entry such as “110/220 V, 50/60 Hz” leaves an important purchasing question: which electrical configuration will be supplied for your packing station? Agree that answer before the machine is built or dispatched.
The KPW-8060 automatic PP strapping machine and KPW-750 semi-automatic strapping machine list single-phase electrical options. Those listings do not establish that every delivered unit automatically accepts either voltage. Ask for the selected voltage, phase and frequency together on the quotation and order acknowledgement.
Do not select a configuration from the destination country alone. Give the actual packing-station supply information confirmed by your facilities team. A building may have several supplies, and a machine moved between work areas needs a review of the new location. If the details are not yet known, mark them pending rather than choosing a value to complete an enquiry.
Record nominal voltage, phase and frequency; identify who confirmed them and the proposed installation location. Leave technical connection details to the responsible qualified person.
List the strapper and any separately quoted conveyor, carton sealer or other equipment. Ask whether each unit needs its own supply or is covered by the agreed line design.
Request the supplied connection arrangement, rated electrical requirements and installation documents. Agree who provides site preparation and commissioning.
A socket photograph may help identify the proposed location, but it is not a complete electrical specification. Do not open a cabinet or expose live parts to obtain pictures. Existing site records and confirmation from the facilities team are the starting point.
Use one revision-controlled equipment schedule. For each unit, record the model, selected supply, quoted accessories and the document reference that confirms them. Include the buyer's approval date and any unresolved questions. A generic catalogue attached to the order does not settle a choice between configurations.
Ask the supplier for a readable nameplate photograph and the applicable installation documentation before dispatch. Compare those with the approved schedule. If the documents disagree, resolve the discrepancy with the supplier before shipment or connection. Keep the final agreed revision with the purchase order so the receiving team has the same information as purchasing.
Manufacturer descriptions also distinguish configurations: Signode's SMB Vero 4.0 product page lists a standard supply and a separate optional supply. This illustrates why the selected version matters; its electrical specifications are not Keepway machine ratings.
A strapping machine with an automatic strap cycle may still require manual carton loading and positioning. A conveyor or carton sealer in a combined-station photograph is not proof that it is included, shares one connection or has the same electrical requirements. Describe the planned station and ask the supplier to identify each equipment boundary.
Keep supply confirmation separate from performance acceptance. Electrical agreement does not establish the finished-carton rate, the usable arch opening or strap compatibility. Use our carton strapping arch and output guide for those checks. For a proposed conveyor line, the line interface checklist explains how to record equipment and control responsibilities.
No. Plug fit alone does not establish electrical compatibility. Have the equipment supplier and qualified installation personnel resolve the supply and connection requirements; this guide is a purchasing brief, not wiring or conversion instructions.
Do not use a catalogue power figure alone to specify site wiring or protective devices. Request the model-specific installation requirements for review by the responsible qualified person under the site's applicable requirements.
Retain its nameplate, order configuration and installation documents. Ask the responsible personnel to review the new supply and location before reconnecting; an earlier acceptance record applies to the configuration and location that were checked.
For an initial quotation, send carton dimensions and filled weight, straps per carton, intended PP or PET consumable, target output, destination and the supply details already confirmed. Note whether you need an operator-loaded station or separately quoted conveying. Unknown supply details can remain pending until reviewed.
