Keepway DWS Parcel Dimensioning and Weighing System for Courier Sorting and Packing Lines

Measure parcel weight and volume at a dedicated logistics workstation. Choose a static platform or a manually loaded, belt-discharge configuration for standalone use or integration into a courier sorting and packing line. Confirm the measurement range, data interface and downstream sorting arrangement for your application.

Product Overview

Keepway DWS parcel measurement equipment brings weight checking and volume measurement into the dispatch workflow. It can be used as an independent workstation or configured with a production line for courier, e-commerce and warehouse operations.

The supplied configurations use operator loading. The static version requires manual removal after measurement. The belt version moves the parcel away after the scanning step. A belt-assisted workstation should not be confused with a fully automatic, high-speed, in-motion dimensioning line.

For sorting projects, define the decision rules, parcel transfer path and downstream equipment before selecting the configuration. The illustrated weighing station alone does not establish that an automatic diverter or multi-outlet sorter is included.

Choose the configuration for your workflow

Static platform version

The operator places the parcel on the platform and removes it after the measurement sequence. This version suits a standalone measurement position or a manually handled stage within a logistics workflow. The reference configuration has a 400 × 500 mm platform.

Semi-automatic belt version

The operator places the parcel on the belt platform. After scanning, the belt carries the parcel away. The reference configuration has a 450 × 600 mm platform. Loading automation, continuous in-motion measurement and a guaranteed line rate are not implied.

Standalone or integrated station

Use an independent station or discuss an interface with the surrounding packing and sorting line. Conveyor height, travel direction, parcel transfer, stop/start conditions and sorting devices must be matched to the actual layout. ERP connection requirements should be reviewed with the required data fields and system interface before an integration commitment is made.

Platform dimensions are not the maximum measurable parcel dimensions. “No powered transport” on the static configuration does not mean the complete system operates without electricity.

DWS Configuration Demonstrations

The videos below show two different equipment configurations: a sorting line and a standalone machine. They illustrate alternative workflow arrangements and are not presented as footage of the exact red/blue workstation shown in the product gallery. Confirm the equipment, sorting devices and interfaces included in your quotation. Video footage does not by itself establish measurement accuracy, capacity or throughput.

Typical operating sequence

  1. Place the parcel on the specified measuring platform.
  2. Complete the configured scanning, weighing and volume-measurement sequence.
  3. Review or transfer the required measurement record using the agreed software interface.
  4. Remove the parcel manually, or let the belt version discharge it.
  5. Route the parcel through the agreed sorting or packing workflow. The routing method depends on the configured line and handling devices.

Application fit

  • Courier parcel acceptance and dispatch stations.
  • E-commerce packing and fulfillment workstations.
  • Warehouse parcel measurement and transfer positions.
  • Production lines requiring a defined measurement stage before downstream sorting or packing.

Actual compatibility depends on the parcel shape, surface, weight, measurement range and handling sequence. Irregular, reflective, transparent or flexible packages should be assessed with representative samples rather than assumed compatible.

Frequently asked questions

Is this machine a courier bag sealer? No. It is parcel measurement and logistics-handling equipment. It may be positioned alongside courier-bag packing equipment as part of a wider dispatch process.

Can it operate independently? Yes. Standalone use and configuration into a production line are available approaches. Select the handling sequence and interfaces for the application.

Is loading fully automatic? The supplied static and semi-automatic belt configurations show manual loading. The belt version assists discharge after scanning; that is not proof of a fully automatic in-motion measuring line.

Does the machine include automatic sorting? Sorting is part of the intended application. Confirm the actual sorting rules, transfer mechanism and outlets in the quotation. Do not assume an automatic diverter is included in every station.

Can measurement data be connected to ERP? The supplied configuration material describes ERP connection. Confirm the target system, required fields, communication method and integration responsibilities for the project. Universal compatibility is not claimed.

What information is needed for configuration selection? Send the parcel size and weight range, sample package types, required measurement tolerances, target handling rate, standalone or line layout, sorting requirements, destination electrical standard and any data-interface requirements.

Enquiry prompt

Request a DWS configuration review with your parcel samples and line layout. Identify whether you need a static workstation or belt-assisted discharge, and describe the measurement and sorting results required. The final quotation should state the selected model, capacity, measurement envelope, tolerances, interface scope and included equipment.
