Separate positioning from the knotting cycle

Describe how the operator places, holds and removes the bundle, and how the machine is started. An automatic tying action does not mean that feeding and unloading are also automatic. If you need a conveyor-connected or unattended process, request a proposal that explicitly covers those steps.

For a demonstration, include the full cycle: positioning the bundle, applying each tie and removing the finished bundle. A knotting time alone should not be used as the hourly production capacity.

Check size, rope and bundle condition

• Smallest and largest bundle length, width and height.
• Bundle weight, surface condition and whether the contents can shift.
• Number and location of ties, including where the knot may sit.
• Rope material, size and reel information for the consumable you plan to use.
• Expected output and format changes during a shift.

Send representative samples or clear photographs when the contents are soft, irregular or have exposed edges. Have the proposed rope and knot evaluated on the actual bundle and intended handling route.

Compare consumables using your own packing task

For rope, PP strap or another method, compare the quantity used per finished bundle, the local consumable price and the operator time. Also consider the required holding function and the receiving customer's requirements. A percentage saving from another application is not a substitute for a sample trial.

Prepare the installation and enquiry

Include the available work area, loading direction, destination voltage and frequency, and whether the machine must connect to other equipment. Ask for operating instructions, routine maintenance requirements and a demonstration of the selected configuration.
